“It gets real, and real change happens.” – these were the words of my friend as he described transformation he was seeing in lives of some of his friends.

It was during a recent lunch, at a new place.  Lunch Bell Bistro.  A great place to have lunch and to catch up with this old friend.  But it was just as intriguing to hear and experience the story of Lunch Bell… as they tell it from their website:

We are proud to bring fresh, nutritious lunches to downtown Winnipeg’s diverse community … and even more proud that our food is prepared and served by work experience students with cognitive and developmental disabilities.

We’ve partnered with Changes Supported Living Services Inc. (Changes) – a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing individual, personalized services to adults requiring support in their homes and communities – to create Winnipeg’s first restaurant staffed almost entirely by people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

And you can really see it… it did help a lot that my friend is in good ongoing relationships with all the staff at the place, as it opened up a beautiful widow of mutual care and respect.  I would like to encourage you to have lunch at LUNCH BELL Bistro.  Or get your next meeting or event catered by them.

As I continue to plan for the campus work, I know the truth of the statement “It gets real, and change happens!”  This is what happens on campus with students in our fellowship group as they are invited to encounter Jesus.
